 Guy farms in partnership with his family about 800 acres near Wallingford. He is a director of HBH farming which is a contract farming operation that farms for three founding neighbouring farmers which along with other contracts now farms some 6500 acres of arable and 1500 acres of grass for sheep and suckler cows.

He has been farming for over 25 years since returning from industry as an engineer after taking an engineering degree. He is FACTS and BASIS trained. He is also a director of Thames and Kennet Machinary Ring.

He is married to Debbie and has 2 teenage children. In his spare time he is a level 2 hockey umpire and an enthusiastic if erratic golfer.

 

Alister Veitch

Alister comes from a farming background, his father was a member of the group in the 80's and 90's.

Alister went to Harper Adams where he studied Agriculture and has a Masters in Business Administration from Derby University.

Neil Walker

Neil has been an Orion director since 2005 and chairman from 2008-2011.

He farms in family partnership in Oxfordshire. 2500 acres predominantly arable, also beef and 1000 milking goats.

Other enterprises include goat's milk marketing from 7 farms, residential and commercial lettings.

   

Nick Frost

Nick is a tenant farmer on 850 acres, 8 miles south west of Oxford. 

He principally grows combinable crops on 700 acres. His farm finish around 80 aberdeen angus cross steers for Waitrose on 83 acres and the remainder is down to Higher Level Stewardship and woodland.

   

Chris Strainge

Chris farms just west of Witney and is married to Allison and has two sons George (12) and Jimmy (9). He farms 1,800 acres of arable land growing wheat, oil seed rape, spring pulses and forage crops.

 

The farm has 28,000 broiler breeder chickens selling fertile eggs. There are also 4,000 pigs contract reared at the farm which are supplying Waitrose.

 

Chris also enjoys looking after his sheep flock comprising 750 breeding ewes and 250 ewe lambs which are currently lambing outdoors using New Zealand Highlander genetics.

 

When he has any spare time he likes to watch rugby and go shooting.

   
Andrew Farrant

Andrew is 39, married with 3 children. A third generation tenant farmer, he belongs to a family farming partnership, milking 580 dairy cows at Eaton, near Abingdon. Cropping is mainly grass and maize, along with a small area of cereals. The partnership also finishes all 400 beef cattle surplus to the dairy each year.
 
The partnership was a member of Chesham Farm Group, before Orion was started. Andrew was a member of the Orion feed subgroup for 2 years before becoming a director in 2010.
