A: Yes. The official UK average for road diesel reached 173.97p per litre for the week beginning 27 July, almost 7p higher than the previous week.
Q: What is happening with red diesel?
A: Farmers Weekly’s current tracker indicates a price of around 99p per litre for a typical 5,000-litre delivery. Actual farm quotes will vary by supplier, location and delivery size.
Q: Could prices settle down again?
A: OPEC+ is increasing production by 188,000 barrels per day during August, but this is a relatively modest increase. The group meets again on 2 August, while Middle East shipping and security remain the bigger influences.
