Orion Farming Fuel Q & A
Farming Fuel Q&A Update – 4th June 2026
Q: What is happening with oil prices this week?
A: Brent crude has moved higher again, trading around the high $90s per barrel on 3 June. The latest rise is being driven mainly by renewed Middle East tension, concerns around oil supply routes, and uncertainty over wider global stock levels.
Q: What does this mean for farm fuel?
A: The market remains volatile. When crude rises sharply, wholesale diesel and gas oil costs usually come under pressure, although changes do not always appear immediately in delivered farm fuel prices.
Q: Are red diesel prices rising?
A: UK red diesel prices are still moving around. BoilerJuice listed the average UK red diesel price at 97.94p per litre excluding VAT for Tuesday 2 June 2026, which gives a useful market indicator, but local supplier prices may vary depending on volume, delivery area and timing.
Q: What should farmers keep an eye on?
A: Watch Brent crude, exchange rates, red diesel supplier quotes and any further news from the Middle East. The key message this week is simple: prices are sensitive, and even small headlines can move the market.
