Orion Farming Group Fuel Update 14th January 2026

Prices – Over the last week the average Orion prices have risen – approximately 2.00ppl rise over the last seven days. Please call the Office for accurate daily prices.

Pricing grid – As previously mentioned we are hoping to be able to reinstate this at some point. A change of operating system in the Orion Office has meant us being unable to reproduce this currently.

Deliveries: Up to 14 working days, dependant on the Supplier and the area they cover, suppliers are now very busy with their winter domestic trade.

Kerosene – Please check on your tanks for any requirements, with lead times increasing it may be difficult to get “Quick” deliveries.. This will continue throughout the Winter.

For electricity enquiries please contact Stuart in the office or email – stuart@ofg.org.uk for any other enquiries please visit our CONTACT page

Your Farm Fuel Q&A: 14th January 2026

This update provides a snapshot of the major market shifts occurring this week.
Market-led update from Orion Farming Group's Phil Shirley

Q: What’s the key Brent market news this week?

A: The main driver is what hasn’t happened:
  • No new OPEC+ production cuts announced
  • No unplanned refinery outages affecting European supply
  • No geopolitical disruption impacting oil flows
Markets are currently driven by comfortable global supply and muted demand, not speculation.

Q:Is there any supply risk farmers should be aware of right now?

A: No immediate risk.
  • UK supply is stable
  • Storage levels are adequate
  • No regulatory or duty changes affecting farm fuel announced
Stable supply supports competitive pricing.

Q: What would materially change the market from here?

A: Only confirmed events, not sentiment:
  • An announced OPEC+ output reduction
  • A major refinery outage in Europe
  • A sharp move in GBP/USD
None of these are currently in play as of this update.

Q: How does January 2026 compare to January 2025 for fuel buyers?

A:January 2026 is:
  • Lower-priced at crude level
  • Less volatile
  • More supplier-competitive
This creates better buying conditions than the same period last year.
