Your Farm Fuel Q&A: 15 October 2025
A factual update on the key questions impacting your fuel costs.
Q1: Where does the oil price stand this week?
Brent Crude is currently trading at around $66.27 per barrel, little changed from last week.
The market has found a stable range between $64 – $68 per barrel since early September.
Oil prices remain underpinned by steady OPEC+ production limits and refinery maintenance schedules across Europe, which are keeping refined product margins firm.
However, weak economic indicators from China and Europe are limiting upward momentum and preventing any sharp price rises.
Q2: What’s happening to red diesel (gasoil) prices?
Bulk agricultural gasoil prices have been relatively flat in recent weeks but continue to reflect higher refining and distribution margins rather than crude oil trends alone.
Supply into the UK is currently stable, but margins remain firm because of tight European refinery output and higher logistics costs.
Traders report that gasoil premiums are holding at moderate levels, with no major downward correction expected before year-end.
Q3: What about heating oil and kerosene?
Seasonal heating demand is now increasing, particularly across Northern Europe, and this is providing firm support for kerosene prices.
UK suppliers are warning that refinery maintenance and shipping schedules could tighten local availability as winter approaches.
